Payment & Confirmation of booking

A payment in full is required to secure your place on any event.

Bookings may be made direct by debit or credit card.

Bookings are then confirmed once full payment has been received. ​
Cancellation
If Ginger Routes needs to cancel your planned activity:

In the event that GingerRoutes needs to cancel your activity due to unforeseen circumstances, i.e. illness or extreme weather, then a full refund will be offered or alternative dates will be provided. There may also be an option for the event to go ahead with an alternative guide or with your agreement another recommended another guide.
​If you need to make a cancellation:

​more than 60 days before the start date, I will offer you a 50% refund

less than 60 days before the start date, there will be no refund
​Minimum number of participants
There is a minimum number required for group events to go ahead and, as a result, all events will stipulate the required numbers of participants to make the event viable. In the event of cancellation as not enough participants then you will be informed with 72 hours’ notice and offer will offer you an alternative date. If the alternative does not suit you, we will return in full all money paid.
There is no minimum number for private guided activities.
Safety
Being on foot in remote and / or rugged fells and hills is potentially hazardous by its nature and participants must accept a certain element of risk. In the interest of safety, you must agree to abide by the decisions of your guide. As we have no control over weather conditions, we reserve the right to alter the itinerary accordingly. People whose fitness or ability is clearly at variance with that required for the grade of the event may be asked to make alternative arrangements (at their own expense) in order to allow the event to proceed as planned.
Medical Conditions
Please let us know, in confidence, of any conditions from which you suffer which may affect your safety in remote areas. These may include asthma, vertigo and diabetes but also not limited to such. Please consult your doctor if in any doubt.
Insurance
It is recommended you take out your own insurance cover in case of cancellation of your activity for any reason. You may also wish to have personal accident or injury cover.
Your Acknowledgement of Risk
I agree that I will undertake the activities in accordance with the safety rules & advice that I have received from GingerRoutes with the instructions and advice given to me before and during the activities I am undertaking. I further agree to wear the safety equipment as instructed, along with the appropriate hill walking attire required to undertake hill activities.
I understand that the activities include obstacles of a substantial and physically testing nature and I accept that there is a risk of injury when undertaking such activities.
I will at all times comply with the mountain leaders’ directions and that I am responsible for my own safety before, during and after participating in the activities
In the unlikely event of an accident, or loss or damage to my personal effects, I acknowledge that the company will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage or injury arising from or in connection with the activities (except for death or personal injury caused by the company’s negligence).
I certify that to the best of my knowledge I do not have a medical condition which might have the effect of making it more likely that I be involved in an incident which could result in injury to myself or to others.

This Privacy Policy relates to our use of any personal information you provide to GingerRoutes via forms on our website(s), by phone, SMS, email, EventBrite, in letters and other correspondence and in person. In order to provide you with GingerRoutes services we will sometimes need to collect information about you.
GingerRoutes is committed to safeguarding your personal information. Whenever you provide such information, GingerRoutes is legally obliged to use your information in line with all applicable laws concerning the protection of personal information (these laws are referred to collectively in this Privacy Policy as the “data protection laws”).
GingerRoutes's website may contain hyperlinks to websites owned and operated by third parties. These third party websites have their own privacy policies and GingerRoutes, therefore, urges you to review them. They will govern the use of personal information you submit when visiting these websites. GingerRoutes does not accept any responsibility or liability for the privacy practices of such third party websites and your use of such websites is at your own risk.
GingerRoutes often takes photos or short video footage to give to clients after their event or course, and/or to use as marketing material on my website/social media platforms. Please inform me beforehand if you do not wish me to use your image for these purposes.
What Information might GingerRoutes collect from me
When you visit this website and provide contact information to GingerRoutes via electronic forms on the website, or contact GIngerRoutes by phone, SMS, email, in letters and other correspondence and in person GingerRoutes may receive personal information about you. The data may include some, or all of the following information: your name, email address and mobile telephone number.
GingerRoutes will keep the data about you for as long as it is believed to be accurate and up to date.
GingerRoutes is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Your data may be stored through Wix.com data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. Wix.com store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.
At times a copy of emergency contact and relevant medical information is held by GingerRoutes when delivering some events and destroyed on completion.
Any payment via the GingerRoutes's website using a credit/debit card uses Wix. Your payment is facilitated by Wix and will show on your statement as being to Wix. All payments are secure and your card details are not stored by Wix, they are encrypted and stored by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant payment gateway. Wix will collect and hold the data in line with their own privacy policy, which can be read here.
How might GingerRoutes use the information collected about me
GingerRoutes might use this data to contact you with direct marketing messages by email on the legal basis of consent and legitimate interest in GingerRoutes services.
GingerRoutes may use your personal information for a number of purposes including the following:

Sharing of Information

If another instructor is working with you, I will need to share some of your personal information for sake of safety and wellbeing.

GingerRoutes uses Google Analytics to help analyse how users use the site. Google Analytics uses ‘cookies’ to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form.
